Sometimes, the relationship between a lawyer and their client does not go as hoped. This is where the Ombudsman Service of the French- and German-speaking Bars steps in: it seeks to resolve disputes between lawyers and their clients without court intervention.
Who can use this service?
A client dissatisfied with their lawyer’s services can file a complaint with the Ombudsman Service. A lawyer who is unhappy with their collaboration with a client can also turn to the service to try to find a solution.
How do I file a complaint?
- via the online form;
- via email at ombudsman@ligeca.be;
- or by mail sent to the Ombudsman Service of the French- and German-speaking Bars, Rue Haute 139/20, 1000 Brussels, or by fax at +32 2 648 11 67.
