Nos missions

The OBFG acts on several levels for the legal profession and for the public:

• Representing all French- and German-speaking lawyers before public authorities, international organizations, political parties, the media, and NGOs.
• Amplifying the voice of lawyers on legislative proposals and issues related to the administration of justice.
• Defending the interests of litigants, particularly by supporting better access to justice for all.
• Establishing the rules of the profession: ethics, professional practices, and harmonization of procedures across bars.
• Organizing the initial and continuing education of lawyers.
• Promoting the social role of lawyers: their involvement in citizens' lives, their place in the judicial system, and their role in democracy and the protection of fundamental rights.

These missions translate into concrete actions: opinions on legislative proposals, the Rule of Law Observatory, support for legal aid, ethics, continuing education, etc.
