AVOCATS.BE, whose legal name is the O.B.F.G. (Ordre des barreaux francophones et germanophone), brings together Belgium's nine French-speaking bars and its German-speaking bar. Its Dutch-speaking counterpart is the OVB (Orde van Vlaamse Balies).

Our mission

Its mission, laid down by law, is twofold: to represent and defend the legal profession and to defend the interests of people who use the justice system.

Two names, one institution

Since 2013, the name AVOCATS.BE has been used in all its communications, as it is clearer for the general public. The legal name, O.B.F.G., is still used in official documents (court proceedings, the Belgian Official Gazette).
